Prima di sentire quest'album,già sapevo che l'avrei comprato.Non solo per il fatto che Ma Dukes è l'executive producer,ma perchè ero sicuro della qualità e della bellezza del prodotto.J Dilla è un produttore immortale,che continua a farmi emozionare sempre,ogni volta che ascolto un suo beat.Il suo stile è unico,raro ed inimitabile e quest'album ne è l'ennesima conferma.Jay Stay Paid è un progetto diretto da Pete Rock che imposta il lavoro come un programma radiofonico incentrato sul produttore di Detroit.Pete ha rispolverato i suoi vecchi Beat Tape (3 Beat Tape pieni di beat inediti girano da molto tempo nella rete) e ha creato questo nuovo Jay Stay Paid.Non mancano le collaborazioni oltre alle molte strumentali,infatti anche Lil Fame,DOOM e Blu per citarne alcuni fanno la loro parte nell'album.Il risultato,come da pronostico, non delude e nonostante le 28 track l'ascolto scorre veloce (dato che molte strumentali proprio in stile Jay Dee non superano i due minuti).Ripeto,è un piacere per le orecchie.Fate come me,Compratelo,non ve ne pentirete.
