Davvero una piacevole sorpresa l'ultimo album di Q-Tip,si fa sentire che è una bellezza,spensierato e allegro.

Come al solito la Def Jux è sinonimo di qualità,e quest'album,anche se un pò differente dal suono che caratterizza la label conferma la regola.Personalmente non apprezzo molto alcuni ritornelli,ma quando si passa al rap non si scherza affatto,grande album.

Non conoscevo affatto J Laine prima di questo splendido album.E' un tributo a Dilla,e appena l'ho saputo mi sono precipitato a scaricarlo.Ho fatto bene,perchè questo prodotto
è il secondo,degno,successore di Donuts.Il primo infatti è stato Beat Konducta Vol.5 di Madlib, che è di poco superiore a questo (sia chiaro,non voglio sminuire la bellezza di Apple Jons).Se avevate i brividi mentre ascoltavate per la prima volta Donuts di J Dilla,se vi siete commossi con J's Day Theme #3 di Madlib,cliccate sul link sotto e contemplate uno dei migliori beatmaker della storia, J Dilla R.I.P.

Ancora non sono pronto per dargli un voto,ma vi assicuro che è buon rap.E' difficile stare dietro a tutte le uscite,e con questo blog cerchiamo di segnalarvi tutto quello che merita.Quest'album merita,e per una recensione più approfondita vi copio l'.nfo che trovate nella cartella:

Jazz rap from Berlino...Segnalato da DMC,Ser e Dr.Doom sul forum del 1-8-7,l'ho preso incuriosito...E non ne sto rimanendo deluso,Phonte lo conoscete tutti e su ste basi da veramente il massimo a mio modo di vedere...Pregevolissima fattura,musica allo stato puro...Buon ascolto ed eventualmente acquisto!

E' passato un pò di tempo da quando vi avevo detto che lo avrei postato,scusate ma sono molto indaffarato.Sarò molto breve,questo album è puro hip-hop,beat freschi e ottimo rap.Non è un capolavoro,ma vi farà passare sicuramente un bel pò di tempo pensando a quanto amate questo genere.Come già detto i beat sono tutti di ottima fattura,e sono tutti opera di Incise.

Ve lo posto avendolo ripreso in mano dopo tempo,in sti giorni di vacanza...Non so,devo essere io poco accorto nel leggere recensioni e quant'altro,ma mi pare che di sto disco di Talib si parli sempre e comunque troppo poco...Sicuramente non ci sono i picchi altissimi del disco con Mos Def o di Reflection Eternal,sia a livello di liriche che di produzione,ma resta una gran bella manata...Kanye dimostra di essere validissimo anche qui,Get By musicalmente è proprio stupenda,così come la traccia con Black Thought e Monch ci mostra 3 belve su un microfono a perfetto agio in una base di Kanye molto curata...Non è un segreto che io musicalmente straveda anche per il Quiksta,che confeziona una base perfetta in cui lui e Talib si giostrano allegramente rilasciando strofe interessanti,nonostante cerchino prettamente il cazzeggio in poche parole come qui

Insomma un prodotto veramente vario,in cui oltre ai nomi sopracitati,fanno capolino tra i feat Bilal e il socio Mos Def,e che alle produzioni può contare su J-Dilla,DJ Scratch e Ayatollah tra gli altri...Io ve lo consiglio,non lo reputo un ascolto impegnativo come magari possono essere i dischi precedenti di Talib,ed è molto godibile sotto ogni punto di vista...Non trovo grossi difetti,se non una minore qualità complessiva del disco...

Che dire...Superbo.

Ho ripreso in mano quest'album solo due giorni fa, stava li tra gli altri dischi che non lo ascoltavo da almeno 8 mesi...Ma quando ieri in macchina l'ho messo nello stereo, mi son letteralmente innamorato del disco, non fraintendetemi non che prima non mi fosse piaciuto, ma riascoltando a distanza di tempo ho saputo apprezzare il disco più di quanto non avessi fatto prima. E' una botta di Jazz-Rap da paura e Buckwild fa un lavoro davvero da 10 con lode. Io ho la ristampa dell'anno scorso qui a casa in cui sono inseriti alcuni più celebri remix tra cui "Time's Up" remixata da Finesse che caccia una beat da ricovero, quel pianoforte è eccelso, oppure la stessa Word Life remixata (per quanto mi riguarda al meglio) da Buckwild. Lasciando stare i remix mi concentro sulle traccie che più mi piacciono. Va inserita senza dubbi la titletrack "Word Life" il disco comincia con un pezzo che mette i brividi, il campione è magistrale e magistralmente Buckwild lo arrangia con altri strumenti rendendo il Beat unico e forse (a mio avviso) il più bello del disco. Purtroppo Finesse ci lascia solo una produzione in "Ga Head", ma non si fa rimpiangere visto lo spessore della base. OC manco a dirlo è un mago con le rime e se una volta Mak disse che non riesce a contare tutte le volte che le rime di Prodigy sono state campionate, beh OC gli fa concorrenza, visto che solo con i primi ascolti sono riuscito a ritrovare 3,4 frasi campionate in altre pezzi di HH americano e non.

Beh tanto il disco il conoscete già tutti quindi è inutile proseguire con gli elogi.

Presto darò un voto,ma intanto ve lo posto in modo che possiate sentirlo sin da oggi.Album interamente strumentale di Metaform,non ho trovato un singolo parere negativo su questo lavoro.L'ho appena finito di sentire per la prima volta e ne sono rimasto esterrefatto.Davvero spettacolare,vi posto qualche parere e il link,Buon ascolto:

" By my count, there are 17 things wrong with that statement, but I'll let them slide because the guy's produced a great record.

The music hews to the template Shadow established over a decade ago. Dusty samples, cinematic dialogue stitched in ("The telephone" mines Weird Science for excellent results), crackling hip-hop drums and that gauzy stoned haze ideal for users of tangerine haze. When They Reminisce Over You called it "the most complete hip-hop instrumental album [he's] ever heard." I'm not willing to go that far, but certainly along with Dilla's Donuts and Blockhead's Uncle Tony's Coloring Book, this is one of the best hip-hop instrumental albums in recent memory. Now if only Metaform can get someone to spell-check his bio he'll be just fine"

Come un fulmine a ciel sereno oggi sbuca questo lavoro taggato Panacea del 2004.Facendo due calcoli è precedente a quello che fino ad oggi si credeva l'album di debutto del duo (Ink Is My Drink),e da una recensione trovata sembra un ottimo lavoro come del resto ci si aspetta:
