Secondo album per Lupe Fiasco,dopo l'ottimo esordio dell'anno precedente...Mantenute le aspettative,liricalmente validissimo e con basi molto azzeccate,sopratutto se si considera la non presenza di big alle produzioni...Ottimo l'attacco in Little Weapon,in HH Saved My Life sfodera un testo commovente,anche se il vero capolavoro lirico sta in Put You On Game personalmente...Veramente bello,ve lo lascio casomai qualcuno non lo avesse ancora sentito,con la speranza che Lupe non voglia mantenere ciò che ha detto,e cioè di abbandonare il rap alla fine del 2008...

Una delle pietre miliari del mondo del Rap : Stress.Questo album uscì nel 1994 ed è frutto della collaborazione tra Prince Po e Pharoahe Monch.Questo anche uno degli album più sottovalutati della storia,perchè quando sentirete canzoni come Bring It On,Stress,The Extinction Agenda darete di matto pensando che questi due geni non hanno la fama dovuta per questo immenso capolavoro.Al Mic combinano imprese assurde (ad esempio Pharoahe Monch su Bring It On),e sarete talmente presi da canzoni come Stress che la canterete a squarciagola fino a dare di matto.Fidatevi,questo capolavoro vale la pena d'essere ascoltato.

A suo tempo mi innamorai di questo splendido album.Masta Ace è un maestro delle rime,un MC come si deve,e qualsiasi traccia su questo album è resa stupenda dalle sue assurde abilità tecniche e interpretative.Questo lavoro esce nel 2001 ed è un concept album,potrete capirlo dai numerosi skit.Tanto di cappello a Masta Ace,che ci regala tracce superbe come la cattivissima Acknowledge,dove dissa Boogie Man(MC che lo menzionò in un Freestyle,e lo uccide,una delle diss-track più potenti di sempre),la nostalgica No Regrets o la stupenda Dear Diary.Pochi feat ma azzeccati e produzione che si adattano perfettamente al suo stile.Un signor Album,davvero.

Tu ascoltatore,vedendo sti due nomi cosa sei portato a pensare?Niente di più che una bomba,visto che a produrre c'è Pietro Roccia con Edo G al microfono,il che è garanzia di successo e di complementarietà praticamente perfetta (dico praticamente perchè personalmente l'alchimia con CL non ce l'avrà con nessuno,ma credo di non essere l'unico a vederla così)...Detto questo,ascoltando l'album le sensazioni iniziali non sono infatti deluse...Pochi ospiti,tra i quali spicca Masta Ace,rendono l'album estremamente scorrevole,fatto di rime intrise e beat caldi o anche più minimali diciamo,ma che tengono noi ascoltatori con l'orecchio fisso sul lettore...Insomma penserete di trovarvi di fronte ad un vero capolavoro!Ma purtroppo devo smontarvi un pochetto queste attese...Già,intanto perchè è cosa nota che Pete non sia un mc vero e proprio e quando interviene nelle (per fortuna) poche strofe non dico che rovini tutto,ma cala il livello un pochetto...La seconda cosa,peggiore in assoluto,è il perchè che noi tutti ci chiediamo da tempo immemore...Perchè Diamond D si è messo a campionare campanacci stile Heidi con un sottofondo di clap per quella che,anche per me amante di tamarrate e canzoni meno impegnate,risulta una delle basi peggio riuscite di sempre?!?!?Era proprio necessario?Non credo,ma non sta a me giudicare ste scelte qui...Vi lascio comunque un ottimo prodotto,da ascoltare per 9 tracce,visto che una difficilmente riuscirete ad ascoltarla neppure sotto effetto di sedativi :D...
